If you, the reader, are not familiar with the term “thot,” you likely clicked on this article expecting to read about how we despise Trump’s mental processes. The term “thot,” however, is not a poorly misspelled rendition of “thought,” it is rather the internet designation of a specific female personality and/or class. Short for, “That hover there” (THOT), the thot is the personification of 21st century result of the sexual revolution.

Perhaps the most eloquent definition is provided by the urban dictionary, which reads as such:

“A woman who pretends to be the type of valuable female commodity who rightfully earns male commitment—until the man discovers that she’s just a cheap imitation of a “good girl” who is good only for mindless sex, not relationships or respect.

“If women are products, then thots are cheap goods. More than that, they’re knockoffs: low-quality merchandise that attempts to masquerade as luxury items.

“They generally dress in cheap clothing, try to act like they’re better than they really are, or think they’re not trashy but high class when they’re nothing close to classy. They demand respect, money, gifts, dates but do nothing to deserve any of it because they have no self-respect, no manners, low self esteem, little education and on top of all that are slutty because they have no self worth.”

Understanding that the thot is the epitome of progressive feminist sexual ethics and promotes a lifestyle of superficiality and promiscuity, conservative schools of thought cannot tolerate such a radically antithetical lifestyle. The thot ought to be a character of the leftist social movements in the West, not a personality common to conservatives as well.

Conservatism, by virtue of its ideological foundation and etymological root, must conserve a great deal of important social institutions. Family values, self-restraint, tradition, and loyalty are the symptoms of a healthy collective. The newest generation, Generation Z, is notably more socially conservative in this category, and in a recent study it was found that this new generational cohort values traditional marriage as optimal.

Perhaps the most antithetical attribute of a conservative, male or female, is cognitive dissonance. To be unaware of one’s counter-intuitive actions and lifestyle is to be blissfully ignorant of what one stands for. But, perhaps nobility is dead. Perhaps self-respect and being true in both word and deed is no longer considered a virtue by society.
