Have you ever been to the store, maybe good ole Wally World, looking desperately for your favorite brand of disposable razors, (or perhaps some beauty products) only to find that your desired item was locked behind (basically) some bulletproof glass? What’s more, all of the items stored behind this glass wall have at least one camera focused only on that particular area. Does any of this sound familiar? If you’re white, you probably have no clue what you just read, but of course, if you are black, you know the struggle all too well.
Yes. That was a joke, but at least one African American woman isn’t laughing. Essie Grundy is filing a lawsuit, claiming she was discriminated against based on her race at a Walmart in California. Clearly reading from a statement sheet and not speaking from her own mind, she said that she had to “pause and step back” that she “was in shock”.
According to Grundy, she walked into her local Walmart to buy some hair and beauty products. To her dismay, all of the products made for blacks were contained inside a glass wall that could only be opened by an employee. The employee would not let her hold the item however, he would take it up to the register, where she would then pay for it. Once it was paid for, she could finally look at whatever it was she just bought. Sure, it sounds like a bit much, but this particular Walmart was having issues with thieves, and the extra precaution was necessary. She looked around and noticed, however, that “products for other races were easily available”. Another reason for SJW’s to get a second dose of white guilt.
She said that she simply could not stand for this type of injustice.
“It was something I had to stand up for. I would like the glass to go down, and for things to go back to the way it was, where it’s not segregated and everything is where everyone can get what they need.”
Grundy was clearly distressed, and during a press conference, she was close to tears and her lawyer had to place her hand on the back of her shoulder to comfort her.
But what Grundy doesn’t know, is that these regulations aren’t placed in stores because one store is more racist than the other, each store has their own set of regulations based on research. A spokesman explained:
“We serve more than 140 million customers weekly, crossing all demographics, and are focused on meeting their needs while providing the best shopping experience at each store. We’re sensitive to this situation and also understand, like other retailers, that some products such as electronics, automotive, cosmetics, and other personal care products are subject to additional security. Those determinations are made on a store-by-store basis using data supporting the need for the heightened measures. While we’ve yet to review a complaint, we take this situation seriously and look forward to addressing it with the court.”
So instead of sending her money to starving children in third world countries, (solving a real problem), she chooses to spend that money on court fees and a lawyer who will pat her on the back and make her feel less oppressed. Of course, no other news outlet reporting this situation is exposing it for how utterly ridiculous it is. No. They are singing her praises for being a “strong, independent black woman”. They don’t take into consideration the possibility that this particular Walmart is having trouble with theft or that likely, many of the perpetrators are black. They wouldn’t have set these regulations up just to be racist, there is a logical explanation for it, backed up by research, but the media is too blinded by forced diversity to see it.
