For the record, I wasn’t going to boycott Dove. I was going to proudly be that edgy Millennial who bought Dove in bulk just to shove it in a bunch of SJW’s faces. But after that weak apology from them, I might have just purchased a ticket to the boycott train.
On Friday, Dove posted a three second ad to Facebook. The ad started off with a black woman in a brown shirt. She removed the shirt to reveal a ginger, Caucasian woman in a white shirt. This woman also removed her shirt to reveal an Asian woman. (For some reason, no one wants to mention the Asian woman). On Saturday, the ad was taken down and Dove Tweeted, “An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused.” Yes Dove, I also regret that these brainwashed, butt burned libtards, are allowed to broadcast their unjustified offense to the internet. Sorry you’re offended, now go paint rocks or something. This Tweet wasn’t so bad, I get that they are a business and want more customers. This ad was met with negativity and it just made sense (in their mind) for them to take it down.
Unfortunately, Dove caved in and released this statement a few hours ago, and thus my own reason for boycotting.
“As a part of a campaign for Dove body wash, a 3-second video clip was posted to the US Facebook page which featured three women of different ethnicities, each removing a t-shirt to reveal the next woman. The short video was intended to convey that Dove body wash is for every woman and be a celebration of diversity, but we got it wrong. It did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about and is core to our beliefs, and it should not have happened. We have removed the post and have not published any other related content. This should not have happened and we are re-evaluating our internal processes for creating and approving content to prevent us making this type of mistake in the future. We apologize deeply and sincerely for the offense that it has caused and do not condone any activity or imagery that insults any audience.“
Dove, it’s not you, it’s them. The whole point of the ad was to make all women of all ethnic backgrounds feel included. It’s an angle SJW’s love, they need everything to represent them. Remember how upset they got when only orange skin colored emoji’s were available? They only represented Donald Trump, and they wanted to feel included! Simply put, companies remember that. They know what sells. But the liberal mind is never satisfied, they always need something to cry about. What if the ad had only white people in it? Then they’d be criticized for not being diverse enough. They’d be called white supremacists and find themselves forced to prove their “passion for diversity” by placing only people of color in all of their future ad’s. It makes no sense whatsoever, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Had Dove not swooped in with this ridiculous apology, I’d be quick to defend them and encourage you to buy more of their products. Instead, they beg for people not to leave them and promise to be good little liberals. “This should not have happened.” They say this two times in their apology, as if the mainstream media are holding guns to their heads. I will be boycotting Dove, but not because of their non existent racism. I will be boycotting because they are cowards.
