Spider-Man:Homecoming received mountains of praise from critics, most recognizing the drastic shift from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy as a positive introduction of the Avengers’ youngest hero into Marvel’s cinematic universe. Tom Holland, who played the role of a teenage Peter Parker, was praised for his role in playing the young hero. The movie received a whopping 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, and has been ranked second for Sony’s best domestic opening in history, raking in between $116M-$118M in its first week, surpassing every major Sony production except for Spider-Man 3 (2007).

As many fans and critics have heralded the recent reboot of the fiction superhero as a success, there is much anticipation regarding the role of Spider-Man in upcoming Avengers movies. Tom Holland has been confirmed as one of the cast members for Avengers: Infinity War, meaning that he will have some role to play in the third installment of the Avengers franchise.

However, as usual, the cancer of American social justice and a staunch insistence on “radical inclusion” parroted by leftists is plaguing what many Americans are enjoying. Diversity is a hot topic in the entertainment industry, evident in developments such as the Gamergate controversy, the multitude of actresses who insist that women are discriminated against in Hollywood, and the infamous Netflix series Dear White People

Actor Jacob Batalon and actress Laura Harrier, who play the roles of Peter Parker’s best friend (Ned) and his love interest (Liz), respectively, recently took to Tumblr’s #answertime for fans. When asked by a user, “What are your thoughts on trans boy Peter Parker?” the actors replied, “YAAAAAAAAAAAAASS.”

See the Tumblr post:

Naturally, as the source is from Tumblr – a festering eyesore of cultural Marxists and social progressives – it should not be particularly shocking that concept as degenerate as “trans boy Peter Parker” would receive attention from its users. A massive collection of artwork and other content covering a “transgender” side to the young super-teen can be found on Tumblr (proceed with caution; degeneracy ahead).

Hopefully, we can dismiss the support for a “trans Peter Parker” as nothing more than a leftist fantasy, proported by a couple of the franchise’s actors. It is possible that the upcoming films starring Tom Holland in the Avengers franchise will not feature a transgender superhero, as Marvel’s comic releases of “diverse” and “inclusive” universes have historically killed their ratings and alienated their fans. But, of course, all we can do is hope that Marvel’s production team is smart enough not to commit brand suicide and dream that the majority of Marvel fans will be allowed by leftists to enjoy their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in peace, just as he is.
