In the collectivistic, identitarian landscape of the progressive left, race is something to be celebrated and to be proud of; unless, of course…
One of Reddit’s sub-threads, titled /europeannationalism/, has been a hub for Western chauvinists, white nationalists, and general proponents of European culture being superior to third-world cultures. Popular topics in the community typically revolved around anti-immigration and white identity, both of which are condemned unanimously by the progressive left.
Meanwhile, the subreddit /blackpride/ is protected by Reddit’s administration via an invitation wall, so that no malicious attacks can be launched against the community.
Both communities stand for common goals: ethnic pride and collective identification with one’s ancestors and achievements, the love for one’s racial makeup, and undertones revolving around the establishment of an ethno-state. Yet, for unexplained reasons, such values are treasured in the black community and degraded in the white community.
The contrast between black and white nationalism has been pointed out in the past, as each ideology proposes a geographical location wherein their identity can exist as a monolithic, heterogeneous demographic. However, the reception that the general public has had towards the black strand of thought is considerably more positive than its reception to the white variety. Despite the fact that the upcoming pan-African superhero film Black Panther stars a totalitarian, monarchial, nationalist, isolationist, chauvinist, racially homogeneous civilization, the film is being paraded by the media as pro-black film. However, when the exact same type of government was adopted by Nazi Germany during the Second World War, the Germans were “racist” and “anti-Semitic.”
The double standards are at an all-time high, and as always, the hypocricy continues.
