While seeking a suspect in an early morning homicide, Panama City Police, ended up in a shootout when the suspect barricaded himself inside his apartment. Witnesses report around 50 shots were fired.
Fox News reports: “The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has identified the shooter as 49-year-old Kevin Robert Holroyd. He is wanted on a homicide investigation in Walton County.
Earlier this year Panama City Beach, which had been struggling under the weight of illegal alien crime, implemented a new system whereby local law enforcement works with ICE in order to detain persons suspected of being in the country illegally, for up to 48 hours.
Their goal is to lessen the amount of illegal criminals released onto the streets of Panama City Beach. The program is one of a dozen similar programs across the country aimed at targeting illegal crime and if successful could serve as a model for a national program.
