Florida’s school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, was falsely reported by the Mainstream Media to have had ties to specific white supremacist groups. These Mainstream Media outlets have followed word from Republic of Florida leader, Jordan Jereb, who told them that Cruz was a white supremacist. There have been no direct links to prove this claim. The main outlets to pick up on this falsehood are BBC, CNN, Daily Mail, the ADL (Anti Defamation League) and even Breitbart News!
A quick recap on the events, 17 students were shot dead and 14 were injured at the shooter’s former high school. The Mainstream Media said that the motive was due to the shooter’s white supremacist beliefs, although it later turned out that the shooter had psychological problems due to an abusive childhood.
To point out the obvious, Nikolas Cruz is not white – he is of a Hispanic ethnicity. This means that the story barely makes any sense when he is called out for being a pro white ethno-nationalist who thinks white people are the superior race. The information provided by the ADF was from 4chan where some members told reporters that Cruz was a member of Republic of Florida.
One user, called ‘Jordan Fash’ explains: “Jordan Jereb is a meme in the chat. We f*ck with him on his live call in shows and he even hangs around our group chat. Shooting happens and ‘autist’ from group goes on the shooter’s Instagram. ABC news reporter contacts the autist and he tells her that he knew the shooter. He gives her some other people’s numbers and they prank call her telling her that Cruz was a chubby chaser, always saying “read siege faggot”, and other spicy memes. ABC blows up Jordan’s hotline and he knew it was our group so he played along. He said he wasn’t a member but only an affiliate and that he had some pictures. We laugh our asses off and go to bed.cwe wake up and it’s national news.”
Many unverified sources are stating that not only is Cruz not a white supremacist but has in fact voted Democrat in the last election. Many outlets are announcing this but no hard evidence has been found, apart from said witnesses and those who claimed to have knew Cruz personally. On the contrary, some students said that Cruz once wore a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat to school. This may indicate he supported Trump but it certainly doesn’t indicate any ties with white supremacist organizations, like Republic of Florida.
