On Thursday, November 11, 2017, allegations surfaced involving Republican politician Roy Moore, who, according to The Washington Post, initiated sexual activity in with a 14-year-old when he was 32, which was almost forty years ago. Moore, however, has denied the legitimacy of the allegations, believing them to be, “yet another attack on my character and reputation in a desperate attempt to stop my political campaign for the United States Senate. He also stated that they were “very hurtful to me personally — I have the highest regard for the protection of young children,” and that he does not “remember ever dating any girl without the permission of her mother.”
Moore assured the public that an ongoing investigation would provide “revelations” to the narrative, and, according to newly surfaced information, he was correct.
In a recent report provided by Breitbart News, Debbie Gibson, an accuser of Moore’s who claims to have been in a legal but inappropriate relationship with the Republican politician, has since bleached her Facebook page of any anti-Moore content.
Kayla Moore, Roy’s wife, is on the front line of her husband’s defense, stated that, “This garbage is the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation,” (emphasis added). Defamation, of course, is an illegal act in certain cases, and if The Washington Post has consciously published content libeling the ethos of Moore, a serious lawsuit could be in order.
